Procedure Minimize

The Charles H. Ivey Foundation was incorporated without share capital December 11, 1957 under the Laws of the Province of Ontario by the late Charles Herbert Ivey M.C., distinguished Canadian businessman and humanitarian.  Early directors were his two sons, Peter J. Ivey,
C. Robert Ivey and his daughter Joanne Ivey Mazzoleni.

The Foundation’s first disbursement and longest continuous support has been to Cystic Fibrosis Research.  Over the years, as a result of gifts, legacies and investment gains, the Foundation’s capital assets are $6,018,996 as of December 2009.  Since its beginning, grants disbursed exceed $5,663,358.  In 2009 the Foundation granted $186,974 to 29 charitable organizations.

The Foundation has two Types of grant funding:

Primary emphasis is placed on applications that demonstrate benefits to residents of South Western Ontario, especially the London area.  Secondary emphasis is placed on other areas of Ontario, including smaller northern communities, less able to generate funding in their own areas.

The Foundation’s particular interests are in the Arts, the Environment and services in the Health and Community sector. The Foundation does not generally contribute to research, seminars or workshop requests and does not consider requests from individuals.

The following are the two Types of funding:

“A” Grants – for project funding, typically ranging from $1,000.00 to $5,000.00.   These are one-time grants and will be assessed at the quarterly meetings.

“B” Grants – to help meet the challenge of introducing new services or elevating existing operations.  These grants are typically larger in value and may be multi-year.  Applications are to be received by March 31 annually and decisions will be made by June 30th of the same year.

Applicants will be advised of their status.

Application Procedure
